Join us Friday August 30th for an interactive Haptic experience by the Universal Music Design program. We will be showcasing a tactile experience of sound and music made possible by UMDs creative and academic integration of haptic wearables and furniture. The event is hosted at our very own Sign Language Cafe, a community venue operated by the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing.
There will be two available time slots:
Afternoon: 12pm-2:30pm
Evening: 3pm-7pm.
Where: Woodstock Cafe 4103 SE Woodstock Blvd, Portland OR 97202.
✨ Meet the Innovators of Universal Music behind the Haptic Zoo event! ✨🎶
What if music could be created and experienced by all regardless of sensory ability? From the collaborative energies of CymaSpace and Confluence Music Studio, we introduce to you the faces behind the Universal Music Design Project (UMD) — Dillon, Shawn, Myles, and Nate. 🚀
👉 A preview of these maestros and their groundbreaking work:
– Dillon Simeone, Lead Design Engineer with their cutting-edge “GestoLumina” prototype, bringing new dimensions to gesture-based sound and haptics.
– Shawn Trail, Phd, (Confluence Founder) and his tactile electronic symphony, ready to redefine musical interaction.
– Myles de Bastion (CymaSpace Founder), with the unique “GestoLumina” harnessing sound and movement into a symphony of light and vibrations.
– Nate Hergert, UMD Principal Investigator who holds the mystery of melody in his hands.
🥁 Big News: We’re thrilled to announce that THIS YEAR, in partnership with Woojer we will be launching our haptic wearable offerings and services to the community events across the Pacific Northwest! 🌲🎉
This is the first program of its kind in the region, designed to enrich your sensory experience of music, whether you’re at a live concert, a cultural festival, or an intimate local gathering.
