CymaSpace is thrilled to announce it’s newest initiative; Access Lab, a Space for All. Access Lab is a place for people to meet, learn, plan, communicate and grow. At CymaSpace we believe access to the world is a fundamental human right. For over 5 years we have committed to positive change through inclusion and equal access. Access Lab has multiple goals:
CymaSpace has deep roots with Portland’s DIY Maker community. Access Lab provides a safe and productive environment for Makers to work on projects, store their materials and use our tools.
The Deaf community and their allies now have a studio to learn valuable job skills and promote the creative arts. Deaf allies who work in Deaf-related social services, such as sign language interpreters, have a place to meet as well.
In addition, Access Lab program will provide a full suite of services to multimedia professionals including workstations, event production & rehearsal facilities, audio-visual tools, live captioning technology.
Access Lab members will have access to these resources year-round with support from CymaSpace volunteer staff. To find out how to become an Access Lab Member, visit our Patreon page.
CymaSpace is a non-profit organization (501-C). Your donation to this unique program will allow us to pay our bills, provide needed interpreting services, purchase technical equipment and hire tutors and staff to support the Deaf community for our lab.
