Starting December 2015, we will be hosting ‘Volunteer Brunch Sundays’, a weekly volunteer work & play session from 1 til 5pm at CymaSpace (931 SE 6th Ave, Portland OR 97214).
In return for your valued volunteer time, we will provide brunch (first come first served!) and the fine company of your fellow volunteers. For new volunteers, please join us at 2pm for a volunteer orientation and introduction to the organization.
These sessions will be open-ended with a variety of engaging and collaborative tasks to jump in on. To whet your appetite, here are some examples of projects that our volunteers have worked on to-date:
These include developing, building and setting up/breaking down our Art/Technology Installations. Deaf & Hard-of-Hearing Advocacy, ensuring events in Portland are inclusive and accessible with access to ASL Interpreters and our multi-sensory technology.
Education & Outreach, establishing partnerships with local organizations, spreading the word, hosting workshops and working with Deaf & Hard-of-Hearing youth and their hearing allies.
As you can see, there is no shortage of innovative projects that will benefit from your time and expertise and there is something for everyone, all ages, backgrounds and skill-sets are welcome at CymaSpace!
